Community in Online Facilitation

Farewell and adieu...

We’re coming to the end of our seminar, and we want to thank everyone for their participation this week. Your comments have been insightful and thought-provoking. We’ve talked about online community, the power of face-to-face residencies, and the importance of trust. The images we’ve explored have taken our conversations in directions we never could have anticipated; we’ve shared numerous perspectives, ideas and stories.

“Community results not from sameness made clear through narrative, but rather through understanding and appreciation of difference that leads to discovery of deeper levels of acceptance and connection” (Wiessner, 2005, p. 104).

We cannot imagine a better team. The seminar may be over, but the community is going strong!
